Taiz Chief of Police escapes assassination attempt

Director General of Police Department in Taiz Brigadier Mansour Al-Akhali survived an assassination attempt on Friday in the city, security official said.

Unknown gunmen opened fire on Al-Akhali’s motorcade while passing near Bab-Alkabir area downtown the city, the official added.

He pointed out that the Police Chief was in the way to attend a meeting for the committee formed by Taiz Governor.

Police Department strongly condemned the criminal assassination attempt, stressing meanwhile that it is committed to crackdown on outlaw elements and maintain security and stability in the city.
