Houthi militia commits 712 HR violations in Dhamar in 2018

Iran-backed Houthi militia has committed 712 human rights violations against the civilians of Dhamar province during the past year, 2018.

A report published by the Shumool Organization for Media and Human rights, said that the militia’s  violations included murder, injury, abduction, enforced disappearance, physical assault, torture, assault on public and private property and undermining the state institutions.

Houthi rebels also made other abuses against women and children, assault on mosques, storming villages, looting relief assistance and imposing royalties and levies to finance its absurd wars.

Most of those violations were committed in Otamah district by 197 violations, followed by Al-Manar 132, Dhoran 59, Jabal al-Sharq 47, Ans 32, Hada 25, Makreb-Ans 24, Jahran 23, Wsab al-Safel 23 and Wsab al-Aly 19, the report said.

The report documented 23 cases of murder, 16 cases of injury, 260 cases of abduction and enforced disappearance , 8 cases of physical threat and abuse, 14 cases of torture, 3 cases of attacks on public facilities and property, and 67 attacks on private facilities and 10 cases of undermining the state institutions.

According to the report, 1678 families were forcibly displaced by Houthi militia to different cities provinces, including 1582 families to Marib province.
