Abductees’ Mothers Association  (AMA) has appealed to the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths to mount pressure on Houthi militia to stop the arbitrary actions against the 36 abductees in its prisons.

In a statement, the mothers called on all international human rights organizations and activists to assume their role and face the political trials and gross violations that the 36 abductees are being subjected to and do more efforts to save and release them.

“Since April 8, 2016, Houthi militia held the first comic trial session against 36 of our innocent sons, including academics, students and engineers. They were kidnapped from their houses and work places and main streets with any legal reason. They were enforcedly disappeared for long months by Houthi militia who exposed them to the most brutal types of systematic physical torture,” AMA statement said.

Houthi militia extracts confessions from the abductees under torture, whose signs were clear on bodies of some these detainees, the statement added.
