Peace choice makes Yemen one of world peace advocates, Parliament speaker says

Speaker of the parliament Sultan Al-Barkani affirmed that the meeting of the parliament in these troubled circumstances doubles the national responsibility, and makes everyone face a difficult test which is inevitable to pass and succeed.
Al-Barkani in his speech at the parliament opening session, addressing the members of the parliament, “The Yemeni public is looking forward to you to create the means of peace and coexistence among the various components of society”.
In his speech, Al-Barkani touched upon the circumstances of the extraordinary session of the parliament in Sayoun, following the coup of the Houthi militia against the legitimate authority by force of arms and its swarming of the capital Sana’a, turning it into a hotbed of gangs and chaos, terrorizing and humiliating citizens.
After four years of war imposed on the people of Yemen by the coup against legitimacy and national consensus, and after all regional, international and local efforts to bring peace and stop the war, it was impossible to convene the House of Representatives in the capital Sana’a to perform its duty to the people who gave it confidence, Albarkani, explained.
It was necessary to work the constitutional and legal provisions of the parliament, which allows the convening of any place in the Republic, in the event of a force prevents it from performing its duties in the capital Sana’a, so the choice of the city of Sioun contribution to normalize the situation in the liberated areas to resume Parliament duties, the parliament speaker added.
He referred to the fraternal role committed to the Charter of the Arab League and the Joint Arab Defense Agreement, which is led by the countries of the Coalition of Legal Support led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to save the Yemeni people who were subjected to the invasion of gangs coming from ages that do not belong to the laws of humanity and contemporary life.
The restoration of the state and the insistence on achieving the decisive and final victory over the coup and the support of every sincere effort to seek peace, whether local, regional or international, he stressed.
The option of peace is the genuine strategic choice to become Yemen with its geographical location one of the tributaries of world peace in an important area on the map of international interests, he said.
Al-Barkani called on the Houthi group to move to peace, renounce violence and become a political component whose existence is practiced in accordance with the law, and the constitution and the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference.
