Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Najeeb Al-Auj met on Wednesday with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Immigrants Richard Albert and Senior Deputy Director of the US Agency for International Development (AID) Tim Zimmer.

During the meeting, they discussed the economic situation in Yemen and the importance of activating donor efforts, especially the US to support infrastructure projects and technical support through the provision of international experts and consultants to train Yemeni cadres, especially in the field of recovery and reconstruction.

The Minister of Planning referred to the economic, developmental and humanitarian situation left behind by the militia coup, praising the full American support for the Yemeni government in all fields, especially developmental support through the US (AID), which transformed its interventions from the relief side to the development side.

The minister expressed Yemen government gratitude for the US funding projects amounting to $149 million distributed in a number of sectors such as economic growth, education, health, water, democracy, human rights and good governance.
