President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi has stressed on the imperative of exerting further pressure on Houthi putschist militia to implement the Stockholm Agreement since it represents a cornerstone for peace process in Yemen.
The President’s remarks came as he received Wednesday the UN envoy Martin Griffiths and Chair of Redeployment Coordination Committee ( RCC) in Hodeida General Machael Lollisgard.
President Hadi said “The Yemeni government is committed to achieve peace as it is an objective and choice we have always been seeking and in various stages and circumstances…. as in the end we’ll sit down together to discuss peace.”
“To achieve that, we have already offered many concessions, but the Houthi militia continues its intransigence and procrastination towards abiding by the deals already signed, most recent of all is Stockholm Agreement,” Hadi added.
The President noted that four months have passed since the agreement was reached “yet the Houthi militia has kept on foot-dragging, capitalizing on the Yemeni people’s suffering to make more personal sectarian gains.”
Parliament Speaker Sultan Al-Barakani and the Head and members of the Government’s team in the RCC were in attendance.
