Yemen participates in AAEC conference in Tunisia

Yemen participated in the General Conference of the Arab Atomic Energy Commission, which began its work Friday at the headquarters of the Commission in Tunisia.

Yemen was represented at the conference by Yemen’s ambassador to Tunisia, Dr. Abdel-Nasser Bahabib, who stressed the importance of holding the conference in light of the delicate conditions experienced by the Arab region, which may negatively affect the activities and programs of (AAEC).

He called on to make efforts to ensure the success of the programs of the Authority and the rehabilitation and training of cadres working in the fields of atomic energy in the Arab world.

He appreciated the active roles played by the authority in promoting the sustainable development of the Arab countries in the various peaceful uses of nuclear energy, including the production of electricity from nuclear energy, sea water desalination, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, the development of agricultural techniques, environmental protection and the preservation of the effects of nuclear technologies.
