Houthi militias have kidnapped merchants and businessmen in Ibb province central the country.

According to local sources, the Houthi militia leader Abdulwahed Al-Mrwaee, kidnapped a number of merchants in the province and closed their shops after refusing to pay illegal levies imposed on them by force.

The militia imprisoned the merchants in a special prison located in the office of Public Works and Road in the province, the sources added.

The militia abuses against Ibb citizens are increasing, especialy with the days before the holy month of Ramadan, which represent a commercial season, due to the large increase in demand for foodstuffs and consumer goods.
