International efforts to restart the Red Sea mills in Hodeidah

A UN team on Sunday visited the Red Sea Mills in Hodeidah, west of the country, for the purpose of operating and restoring it, after it stopped working due to the deliberate shelling and vandalism of the Houthi militia.
The UN team was briefed on the extent of the damage caused to the Red Sea by the bombing and targeting of the Houthi militia.
The UN team is seeking to rehabilitate and operate the mills, and to start covering local needs.
“Today, we are welcoming the UN team to inform them of the extent of the devastation caused by the Houthi militias in the Red Sea, to assist them in re-employment , and to re-distribute humanitarian and international aid to Hodeidah province and the Yemeni provinces. The Red Sea mills being a vital and very important area working to receive international assistance to the Yemeni people.” said a member of the government side.
“The UN team overcome all difficulties for the arrival of the World Food Program Director and the head of the Mine Action Program (YNDB) to restart the Red Sea mills in Hodeidah”, he added.
