The Governor of Lahj Province, the 17th Inf. Bri, Commander Maj. Gen. Ahmad Turki, inaugurated today a special program dedicated to the Ramadan evenings by organizing a ceremony honoring, the appreciation of the traffic police officers and soldiers who participated actively in the success of the unified Arab Traffic Week.

Turki stressed that the traffic week ended with the aim of presenting the message of awareness of the traffic men to the road users of pedestrians and the various means of transport.

He pointed out that the leadership of the traffic police and the traffic men have their major roles in maintaining security and stability in the province.

For his part, the Traffic Police Department Director in Lahj province, Col. Qahtan Al-Qutaibi, that traffic accidents witnessed in the province during the year 2018, amounted to 90 incidents resulted in the death of 48 people and injured 123 people.

He pointed out that traffic accidents for the first third of this year 2019, amounted to 58 traffic accidents resulted in the death of 26 people and injured 43 people.
