Houthi militia commits over 130 HR violations since early 2019

Houthi militia has committed more than 130 crimes and abuses against rights and freedoms in Ibb city since January 1st until March 30, 2019.

Legal Center for Rights and Freedoms said in a recent report that it has  documented 35 crimes of killing and wounding executed by Houthi militia against all levels of the population in the province.

The report recorded 35 cases of abduction, seven cases of enforced disappearances, two cases of death under torture, one execution, five cases of storming and looting houses, two cases of burning people’s possessions and two cases of raiding homes, four cases of seizing public lands, looting of food and medicine assistances, damages on houses by random shelling and displacement of hundreds of families by the Houthi rebels militia.

The report documented cases of child recruitment by the militia, which thrown them to fight in its ranks on various battle fields.

The report mentioned other crimes made by the rebel militia against citizens and public and private freedoms and rights, suspension of education system due to the militia’s war on some areas, imposing militia theocratic and sect ideas in public collages and institutions and mosques and omitting names of teachers from list of beneficiaries to receive payments of UNICEF to 2600 teaches in the province.
