Minister of Local Administration, the Head of the Supreme Relief Committee Abdulraqeeb Fatah has considered UNDP’s acts of handing over Houthi militia 20 cars assigned for demining contracting fully UN laws and principles.

Saba News Agency quoted the minister as saying that there is only one legal representative to the Republic of Yemen, President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, pointing out that any dealings for the United Nations must be conducted with the legality and any agreement out of this frame contradicts international and UN laws.

“Rather, the United Nations should support government of Yemen and efforts of MASAM Project for removing mines planted by Houthi rebel militia and reached more than 1.2 million land and sea mines and  explosive devices across Yemen and their victims reached 2500 killed and injured civilians,” he said.

“The one who kills people by mines will not remove them.”

Fatah reconfirmed government’s support for providing support to UN organizations for carrying out their projects in Yemen, including those areas under Houthi control.

He stressed that the UN should respect international laws and treaties, confirming that the government will not accept such practices.
