Minister of Information Muamer al-Iryan blamed Iran-allied Houthi militias for disrupting political transition in Yemen, refusing to be engaged in national unity government.

He said ” The government tried to engage Houthis in the political process through the National Dialogue and national unity government, but these militias refused, went on carrying out its sectarian scheme backed by Iran’.

His statement came during his meeting on Tuesday with Vice President of the American Hartig Foundation James Carafano and a number of senior researchers.

He stated that the government headed by President Hadi is very interested in implementing Stockholm Agreement and it is committed to establish peace.

The Minister cited Houthi militia’s atrocities and violations against the Yemeni people, criticizing its divisive sectarian policy .
