National army forces thwarted an attack by Iran-backed Houthi militia  in Tohaita district south of Hodeidah on Friday.

A bunch of Houthi militia elements tried to make an advance towards Al-Jabalia region in Tohaita from northeast and southeast sides in a bid to reach the coastal route in the area, but failed and were repelled by the army forces.

Fighting resulted in killing several rebels and wounding others, and the withdrawal of the elements.

Iran-backed Houthi militia continues to violate the UN truce in Hodeidah. They attack national army positions and shell civilians almost every day.

The army forces have been fully committed to the ceasefire in the city as per the orders of political and military leadership aiming at establishing peace.
