VP, German Ambassador discuss peace efforts

Vice President Lt.Gen. Ali Mohsen Saleh met on Wednesday with German Ambassador to Yemen Carola Moller.
Discussions focused on underway efforts aiming to achieve peace in our country. Aspects of bilateral ties and cooperation between the two friendly countries was key focus of the conversations.
Iran-backed Houthi militia’s atrocities and violations against the Yemeni peoples in the militia controlled regions were also touched upon.
The Vice President noted the recent military escalations by Iran-aligned Houthi militia, citing attacks by unmanned Aerial Vehicles and ballistic missiles against brothers in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the militia’s threats to regional security and international maritime passageways .
The Vice President stated that legitimate government led by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi is very interested in achieving permanent peace that is based on the three terms of reference including GCC’s Initiative, its executive mechanism, outcomes of National Dialogue and International Security Council resolution 2216.
He highly appreciated Germany’s supportive stance in supporting legality in Yemen, wishing further enhancing Yemeni-German relations and cooperation.
The German diplomat reiterated her country’s support for legal leadership of Yemen saying that Germany is very interested in establishing peace in Yemen and putting an end of the Yemeni peoples’ suffering.
