Yemen, UK discuss peace developments

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad al-Hadhrami discussed on Tuesday with Charge D’ Affairs at UK Embassy in Yemen Fauna Walker latest developments in Yemen and in the region, including peace process and efforts of UN envoy.

Al-Hadhrami denounced Iran’s practices in the Arab Gulf’s waters and Hormuz Strait and abducting UK ship, describing these acts as irresponsible and negatively affect maritime navigation in international waters.

He renewed government’s keenness on peace and dealing positively with UN envoy’s efforts, making it clear that ending Houthi game of “Unilateral Withdrawal” from Hodeida has been one result of recent meetings for the UN Redeployment Coordination Committee in addition to assertion on triple monitoring of Houthi withdrawal from Hodeida city and its ports.

He stressed significance of what has been included in Stockholm Agreement on Hodeida’s local authority, local security forces and everything associated with respect to legal tracks.

For her part, the UK diplomat valued Yemeni government’s solidarity with the UK on seizing UK ship and confirmed her country’s support to the government of Yemen and support for UN envoy’s efforts for ending war and reaching permanent peace.
