Foreign Minister meets with his Indian counterpart

Foreign Minister Mohammed Al-Hadrami met today, Wednesday, with Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jai shankar. The session held on the sideline of the 18th ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held in Baku of Azerbaijan.

Al-Hadrami’s conversations with Jai shankar focused on bilateral ties between the two friendly countries.

The latest developments about peace efforts in Yemen, situations of the Yemeni community and students in India all were also touched upon.

The two minister put emphasize on the importance or resuming the meetings of the Yemeni-Indian Joint Committee which ceased since 2013.

Al-Hadrami praised the Indian government’s supportive stances in supporting the Yemeni legitimate government, asking for more Indian scholarships and easing visa procedures for the Yemeni citizens who want to travel to India.

Jai shakar reiterated his government’s support for the Yemeni legitimate government and UN-led peace efforts. He also stated that his country can provide Yemen with technical support in the areas of economy, culture and training.
