The Republic of Yemen participated on Thursday in the International Conference on Population and Development held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.
Minister of Public Health and Population Dr Nasser BaAum contributed to the gathering’s discussions, calling for population strategies that should take into account the demographic diversity and political, economic and social challenges.
Speaking at the gathering BaAum stated that Yemen has been going through very critical stage as a result of Iran-allied Houthi militia’s coup.
He cited the serious consequences of the ongoing war triggered by the Houthi militia calling on the Conference to help mobilizing the necessary political and financial support that Yemen desperately needs to achieve the objectives of sustainable development.
