The speaker of the Arab Parliament Mishaal al-Salami slams Iran’s recognition of a Houthi self-styled ambassador to Tehran by handing over to him all the assets and premises of Yemen’s embassy in the Persian country.
“This Iranian act is an explicit violation of the diplomatic norms, the sanctity of diplomatic premises, an explicit violation of international diplomatic norms, the UN Charter, the Geneva Convention, and the UN Security Council resolutions, particularly resolution no. 2216, ” he said.
He said Iran bears responsibility for the consequences of this conduct and the setback it poses to political settlement efforts.
