MASAM destroys 4761 Houthi-laid mines, explosives in Taiz and Al-Jawf

The Saudi Project for Landmine Clearance in Yemen, MASAM, destroyed 1053 landmines and unexploded ordinance planted by Iran-backed Houthi militia in al-Yatamah area of Al-Jawf province.

The supervisor of the demining teams said the field teams destroyed 500 anti-tanks mines, 50 unexploded ordinance, 500 explosive objects, and 2 Katyusha rockets.

Co. Amer al-Bahri pointed out that MASAM’s field teams removed these mines from al-Yatamah area during the past two months.

The project MASAM also destroyed 3736 landmines and unexploded ordinance planted by Houthi coup militia in Bab al-Mandab district in Taiz province.

The demining teams have destroyed 1822 anti-tank mines, 324 anti-individual mines, 1413 explosive objects, 172 unexploded ordinance and 32 improvised explosive devices.

Osama al-Qosaibi, Director General of MASAM project, stated that the demining teams in the west coast destroyed 66,760 landmines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance.
