Specialized Criminal Prosecution (SCP) in Marib province destroyed 3,343 kg of narcotic Hashish on Tuesday.

The damaged quantity, worth about $ 9 million dollars, were submitted by security forces in Marib, Jamal Omair, Head of SCP, told state-run Saba News Agency.

“It ( Hashish) was from the cases of drugs seizures took place during the last quarter of 2019, which also saw similar destroying of quantities of Hashish, Omair added.

For his part, Director of Criminal Investigation Department in Marib said that 64 drugs-related cases were referred to the PCS during past year.

Col. Husain al-Hulaisi added that Marib Security Services seized in the past year 4705 kg of Hashish, with 157 accused persons of whom 106 were arrested and 51 are still fleeing and wanted for justice.

The cannabis were damaged in the presence of several local and security officials in Marib province.
