Regional condemnation over Houthi terrorist attack on Mosque in Marib

The Houthi militia’s terrorist attack on a Mosque in Marib province has met with a wide condemnations regionally and internationally.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the terrorist attack carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia against a mosque in Marib, in central Yemen

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said the Houthi militia commits such acts to deliberately undermine the political process in Yemen.

The Houthi rebels disregarded the sanctity of the place of worship and shed the blood of the Yemeni people, reflecting their disregard of religious sites and human life, read the statement.

The United Arab Emirates also condemned the “criminal” attack in a statement issued by the ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation, urging the international community to unite to confront terrorism, whatever its source, which undermines the chances of peace, stability and security in the region.

In addition, the statement read, “UAE rejects all forms of violence that target security and stability as such actions are incompatible with religious and human values.”

The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemns  the terrorist attack carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militias against a mosque in Marib.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that such terrorist acts reflect the determination of Houthi militias to continue their violent and terrorist practices which hinder all efforts aimed at reaching a political solution that preserves the unity and security of Yemen and fulfils the aspiration of its people for peace and stability.

Turkey condemned, in a statement by the Foreign Ministry, the terrorist attack of Iranian-backed Houthi rebels on a mosque in Marib.

The Arab Republic of Egypt denounced in the strongest terms, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Houthi’s terrorist attack targeting a mosque at Marib city.

The statement read, “Egypt totally rejects of all forms of terrorism, violence and extremism, and in turn, affirms its solidarity with the Republic of Yemen in this painful affliction.”

The statement also conveyed Egypt’s sincere condolences, both to the Yemeni government and the brotherly people and the families of the victims, wishing for the injured a speedy recovery.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Abul-Gheit condemned the Houthi terrorist attack, pointing out that the attack is the bloodiest since the outbreak of the Yemeni war.

The Secretary-General said in a statement that the attack comes at a precise timing with the aim of undermining the relative calm that prevailed during the last period on the Yemeni scene, and then disrupting any serious moves towards a peaceful solution, and only serves the agendas of regional powers seeking Houthi use as a claw.

UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s terrorist attack on Marib province, saying that the attack could derail a fragile political process.

The head of the Arab Parliament Dr. Meshal Al-Salami condemned in the strongest terms the cowardly terrorist attack, and stressed that “this cowardly terrorist attack is a heinous crime that contradicts all divine laws and human values, by shedding blood, violating the sanctity of God’s homes, and terrorizing the safe worshipers.”

The President of the Arab Parliament called on the United Nations and the International Security Council to take immediate and urgent measures to hold the Houthi coup militia accountable for this heinous crime, which revealed its criminal face.

He renewed the support of the Arab Parliament and its full solidarity with the Yemeni Republic in all its actions to address these coup militias

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi militia, on a mosque in the Yemeni Governorate of Marib.

In a statement, OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen stressed that the terrorist attack are against the Islamic behavior.

Al-Othaimeen confirmed that the OIC always stands with the Yemeni people in combating terrorism and extremism.

The European Union (EU) condemned the Houthi militias’ attack against a mosque in Marib.

A statement by the EU External Action Service in Brussels said that the attack threatens continuation of military de-escalation and derails the United Nation (UN)-led-peace process.
