Yemen Vice President receives Swede’s Special Envoy to Yemen

Vice President Lt. Gen. Ali Mohsen Saleh met Tuesday in Riyadh with the Special Envoy of Swede to Yemen Peter Semniby.
The meeting aimed to discuss the developments in the national Yemeni arena and bilateral ties between the two countries.
The Vice President highly praised the interest of the Kingdom of Swede in establishing peace in Yemen and the efforts it has made in this regard including hosting Stockholm’s consultations, besides its substantial contribution to the humanitarian and relief actions.
He touched upon a range of topics and issues including the agreement of Hodeidah and Riyadh agreement.
He stated that the implementation of the two agreements will be a significant step forward to achieve the comprehensive peace in Yemen.
He affirmed that the Houthis’ recent military escalation in several fronts undermine the prospects of implementing what were agreed to in Stockholm.
For his part the Swedish envoy extended his country’s condolences on the killing of scores of the Yemeni soldiers and civilians by the Houthi shelling of a mosque in Marib governorate.
Semnibly reiterated his country’s support for Yemen’s security, stability and humanitarian efforts.
