Yemen’s Information Minister said the Houthi militia spent 200 million Yemeni Riyals on organizing the theocratic militia’s “religious feasts imported from Iran”, leaving the people in their areas of control to starve.

In a statement to Yemeni News Agency Saba the Minister said, Houthi organized celebrations of Al-Wilya Day, which according to the radial Shia militia marks the day when prophet Mohammed appointed Ali Ibn Abi Taleb and his offspring as heirs in ruling Muslims.

“The Iran-backed militia continue to spend YR millions looted from the state treasury, while people … starve enduring the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.”
