Brig. Gen. Mugali explained that this state of decreasing in human element prompted the Houthi militia to spread rumors, deceive false documents, to preserve the morale of its members.
The army has recaptured a number of strategic areas and mountains in al-Jawf province, he said.
“By liberating these areas, the army and the popular resistance succeeded to cut off the supply lines of the Houthi militia, tighten the siege on them and make progress on positions where the militia was stationed,” Mugali was quoted as saying.
He noted that coalition fighters supporting Yemeni legitimate government carried out air attacks on militia positions and reinforcements, in al-Jawf, Marib and Sana’a provinces, killing and wounding dozens of militiamen and destroying combat vehicles.
Brig. Gen. Mugali also confirmed progress on the ground in fronts east of the capital Sana’a valued the role of the Yemeni tribes in supporting the army, primarily the tribes of Marib and al-Jawf.
