Houthi militia launched Sunday morning a heavy artillery bombardment against residential neighborhoods in the city of Taiz.

The shelling coincidence with the returning of students to their schools and displaced people to their homes after being handed over to them by the committee set up in this regard.

Brig. Gen. Abdul Basit al-Bahr, said to September Net that the Houthi militia launched heavy shelling with mortar shells and machine guns from positions stationed at the east of the city.

“More than 72 mortar shells have been fired by Houthi militia, injuring many civilians, including students”, he added.

The Houthi barbaric shelling caused serious damage to the homes of the citizens and sparked panic among the residents.
