GIZ organizes training course on Transparency in Extractive Industries in Marib
German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in collaboration with Alliance for Transparency in Extractive Industries organized training course on Transparency in Extractive Industries in Marib.
The training highlighting the key role played by youth in promoting transparency and accountability in the extractive industries.
Marib’s Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs Abdullah Al-Bakiri launched the course on Saturday, pointing the necessity of promoting transparency and accountability in various official and private institutions, particularly in the extractive industries.
“Transparency is required from all institutions to preserve public money and use wealth to achieve development,” he added.
“20 participants male and female from various media and civil society organizations are attending the training course.
“The training aim to provide young people with the needed tools and skills to enhance transparency and accountability”, project coordinator Ahmed Al-Zekri said.
