FM receives new representative of WFP
Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ahmad bin Mubarak received Wednesday the newly appointed Representative of World Food Program in Yemen Ritchard Ragan, who handed over foreign minister the letter of appointing him a new representative.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed means of boosting the organization’s work to alleviate suffering of Yemeni people over the humanitarian crisis Yemen goes through over Houthi militia’s coup against the state.
Bin Mubarak touched upon the work mechanism of the organization, confirming significance of cooperation and coordination to realize joint goals and increase the number of beneficiaries, in addition to increasing means of the organization’s control and inspection to control mechanism of distribution of assistances and confirming their validity.
He pointed out to necessity of doubling efforts to mobilize necessary resources for filling the shortage’s gap of supplying the strategic plan 2019-2022 to ensure non-reduction of humanitarian assistances.
He also reviewed latest developments under Houthi militia’s continuous war on Yemeni people and rejection to all international efforts for peace.
For his part, the new representative of WFP praised support and facilitations provided by the government of Yemen to the organization, confirming that he will exert all efforts to provide services to Yemeni people to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis.
