PM meets Executive Director of Operations at the World Bank

Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik met today, Sunday, with the World Bank’s Managing Director for Operations Anna Bjerde on the sidelines of his participation in the twenty-eighth climate conference currently being held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
They discussed the existing areas of cooperation between the government and the World Bank, adapting cooperation plans in line with current changes, and supporting the government’s ability to deal with them, develop interventions and move to sustainable development interventions.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the World Bank’s directions and its new framework, allocating 45 percent of its annual financing to climate-related projects for the next fiscal year, which includes supporting people in developing countries to better withstand the repercussions of climate change, and protecting ecosystems and biodiversity.
