Defense Minister Discusses Strengthening Joint Cooperation with His Indian Counterpart

The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Mohammed Al-Daari, met on Wednesday with the Defense Minister of Republic of India, Rajnath Singh, in the Indian city of Bangalore to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two friendly countries.

 

The Defense Minister praised the deep-rooted historical relations between the two nations, which date back centuries. He expressed appreciation for India’s support in training and qualifying Yemeni personnel, honing their skills in various fields, particularly in medical and military sectors. He also acknowledged India’s provision of essential medical services to wounded and injured members of the armed forces.

 

Lieutenant General Al-Daari highlighted the threat posed by the terrorist Houthi militias to maritime navigation in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden, as well as their disruption of international peace. He emphasized the importance of international support for the government and the armed forces to establish sovereignty over the country and ensure the security of global trade routes and maritime navigation.

 

For his part, the Indian Defense Minister reaffirmed the strong ties between Yemen and India, emphasizing efforts to further develop joint cooperation in a way that benefits both nations.
