Security Campaign Thwarts Drug Smuggling in Lahj

A joint security campaign foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics on Wednesday through a boat off the coast of the Al-Madariba and Ras al-Ara districts in Lahj governorate.

Security sources told September Net that the forces successfully captured four smugglers aboard the boat prior to their handover to the relevant legal authorities.

In a related context, the 17 Giants Brigade forces seized a shipment of smuggled alcohol on Tuesday. This marks the second such operation in a week, following the earlier seizure of over 1,500 bottles.

Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri, the campaign commander, confirmed that security and military forces in the Al-Sabaiha region are determined to prevent the use of local land and sea routes by smuggling networks. He emphasized that security operations will continue to pursue smugglers and protect society from these scourges.
