September Net

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) along with Council member (Lt Gen) Mahmoud al-Subaihi received today, Thursday, the American Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.

The Yemeni-American joint cooperation and partnership ware key focus of the talks.
The conversations also covered the developments in the Yemeni national arena, the government’s ongoing reforms and the American support required to sustain the government’s efforts aimed to ease mitigate the humanitarian suffering created by the Iranian regime backed terrorist militias.

The President reiterated the emphasis on the importance of the strategic partnership with the United States, underlining Washington’s pivotal role in encountering cross-border threats and Iran’s behavior that destabilizes regional and international stability.
President al-Alimi considered the recent regional developments, including Tehran’s resumption of its hostile attacks in the region, as further evidence that the Iranian regime is not a project for peace or stability, but a scheme of expansion and domination based on an approach of blackmail and manipulating of chaos.

His Excellency made it clear that experiences extending from Yemen to a number of countries in the region have proven that relying on the moderation of Iranian behavior without addressing its expansionist structure has always led to further escalation, not peace.

The Chairman of the PLC referred to the Houthi behavior over the recent few weeks, which provides a practical indication of the persistence of the escalation approach, whether on the humanitarian level, through maritime threats or through coordination with terrorist networks in the Horn of Africa, the latest of which was the incident of hijacking a ship off the Yemeni coast.

He also touched on the developments in the national arena, including the noticeable progress in the path of economic and financial reforms supported by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as efforts to unify security and military decision-making to make the state institutions more effective.
