Presidential Leadership Council member and Hadhramaut Governor Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi convened a coordinated military-security meeting on Tuesday at the First Military Region command in Seiyun.
The session brought together senior officers from the First Military Region, the Second Brigade of the National Shield Forces, and security bodies operating in Hadhramaut’s Valley and Desert areas to align efforts and improve joint coordination.
Al-Khanbashi, joined by Hadhramaut Deputy Governor for Valley and Desert Affairs Jamaan Barbaa, First Military Region Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Amer Bin Hatyan, Valley and Desert Security and Police Director Brig. Gen. Abdullah Bin Habish, and National Shield Forces commanders, stressed that all units should work through a single operations room. He said this would ensure unified roles, faster responses, and stronger effectiveness in preserving stability and security.
He instructed First Military Region leaders to deepen integration with National Shield Forces to advance security and defense tasks and safeguard national gains. He also called for maximum operational readiness and tighter preventive measures against potential threats.
After the talks, Al-Khanbashi attended a military and security parade featuring units from the First Military Region, National Shield Forces, and local security agencies, with military, security, and civilian officials present.
He told the troops that security and stability underpin development, and commended the forces for their role in maintaining order during recent events in the governorate. He urged personnel from Hadhramaut who are absent from the First Military Region to return to duty immediately.
Al-Khanbashi said he had ordered administrative, military, and security measures to back development and upgrade basic services, focusing on electricity, infrastructure, education, and water. He urged higher preparedness to foil any plans aimed at destabilizing Hadhramaut and its achievements, and thanked Saudi Arabia for its ongoing military, security, development, and humanitarian support.
At the end of the meeting, the First Military Region and National Shield Forces leadership honored Al-Khanbashi for his support to the forces and for facilitating their operations.
