The Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia has escalated its activities in Al-Dhalea Governorate over the past two days by establishing new armed checkpoints in Qaatabah District while sending additional reinforcements to several frontlines across the governorate.
Local sources told September Net that the militia has recently set up new checkpoints and security positions in several villages in the Al-Oud area, west of Qaatabah District, after deploying armed fighters and vehicles at villages entrances and along secondary roads to tighten its control and impose additional levies on residents and farmers.
The sources said these measures are part of the militia’s systematic policy of tightening its grip on the local population and pursuing those who oppose its rule through continued intimidation and repression in areas under its control.
The sources also revealed that the Houthi militia has continued sending fresh reinforcements from Yarim District in Ibb Governorate, including additional fighters and combat vehicles, to the frontlines in Mures, Bab Ghalaq, Al-Fakher, and Hajar in northern and western Al-Dhalea.
According to the sources, these movements and reinforcements indicate that the militia is seeking to escalate its military operations by launching attacks, carrying out infiltration attempts, and increasing pressure on civilians living in areas under its control, in continued violation of humanitarian laws and international norms.
