The Republic of Yemen has strongly condemned the criminal terrorist attacks targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia using drones launched by militias affiliated with the Iranian regime from Iraqi territory, describing them as a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of state sovereignty that threatens regional peace and security.
The attacks, Yemen said, reaffirm Iran’s continued strategy of using armed militias to destabilize the region.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reaffirmed Yemen’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its steadfast support in confronting all threats to its security, stability, and sovereignty.
The ministry also expressed support for all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to protect its territory and citizens and to deter sources of terrorism and threats.
The ministry further stated that these attacks reflect the Iranian regime’s destabilizing conduct through its network of proxies and armed militias. It stressed that this behavior no longer threatens a single country alone but has become a direct danger to the regional security system, international navigation, and global economic stability, in open defiance of international legitimacy resolutions and efforts to achieve peace in the region.
The ministry explained that the Yemeni people have been, and continue to be, among those most affected by these policies due to Iran’s ongoing support for the Houthi terrorist militia.
This support has prolonged the war, deepened the humanitarian crisis, targeted civilian infrastructure, and threatened international shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, demonstrating that these militias operate within a single cross-border project aimed at undermining the sovereignty, security, and stability of nation-states.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that the continued impunity enjoyed by the Iranian regime and its proxies would encourage further attacks and undermine opportunities for peace and stability in the region.
It renewed its call on the international community and the United Nations Security Council to adopt a firmer stance against Iran’s destabilizing activities, hold accountable those who support and finance terrorist militias, and prevent the territory of any state from being used as a launching point for attacks against other countries, thereby strengthening international peace and security.
