Army Forces Repel Houthi militia Attacks in Taiz

The Yemeni Armed Forces repelled Houthi terrorist militia attacks targeting civilian areas and military positions in Taiz Governorate.

Local sources said that the terrorist militia shelled a mosque and Aljeel Al-Jadeed School in Al-Maqsab village, Al-Ataqah area, in Mawza District, damaging both buildings but causing no casualties.

The sources added that the mosque was targeted hours after the school was shelled in the same area, as the militia continues its attacks against worshipping places and education facilities as well as residential neighborhoods in the city.

Meanwhile, on the city’s northeastern front, Houthi militia used medium weapons and mortar shells to target Armed Forces positions at Alwakil and Almushke hills, according to a military source who told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba). No casualties were reported among the troops.

The Armed Forces responded by striking the militia’s firing positions at the Softel and International Hospital sites, silencing the fire, while clashes continued between the two sides.

On the Haifan Front, southeast of Taiz, clashes broke out at several positions, including Airem, Almafalees, Saeed Taha Hill, Alabliya and Almanzara, where the fighting involved light, medium and heavy weapons.

Local and military sources said the Armed Forces repelled a Houthi attack and forced the militia to retreat. The Armed Forces continue to engage with the militia’s firing positions and maintain readiness to repel any attacks, hold their positions and inflict heavy losses on the militia.
