Minister of Planning, UNDP Discuss Joint Cooperation

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Faqmi met today, Tuesday, with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Yemen Noura Hamldaji to discuss areas of joint cooperation and the UNDP’s plan for upcoming development projects.

Minister al-Faqmi stressed the importance of shifting the program’s upcoming projects and programs from a humanitarian response phase toward a recovery and development track, in line with the government’s priorities. He also underscored the importance of directing efforts to mobilize support and funding toward sustainable development projects.

The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation explained that the government is working to prepare a national plan outlining its development priorities, with the aim of unifying partners’ efforts and directing interventions according to national needs and priorities. He called on the program to focus on implementing interventions and projects in the areas of technical support, institutional development, and capacity building for ministry staff.
