The United States Affirms Yemeni Government’s Right to Defend Its People, End Houthi Terrorism

The United States’ Embassy in Yemen said that the Internationally-recognized government of Yemen has the full right to defend its people and to end the ability of the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias to carry out acts of terrorism.

In a statement posted on its X platform, the embassy added: “The Houthis started this conflict, and they must bear the consequences of their aggression.”

The US embassy also affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s right to defend its territory and citizens, and expressed its support for the legitimate Yemeni government in its efforts to put an end to Houthi terrorism
