Council of Ministers Takes Practical Measures To Respond to Houthi Escalation Implications

The Council of Ministers devoted its session today, Saturday, in the temporary capital Aden, chaired by the Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani, to address the developments of the military, security, economic and humanitarian situations amid ongoing perilous military escalation by Iranian backed terrorist Houthi militias and its implications on the national and regional security, the water passages.

The Cabinet discussed the military operations in some fronts and the humanitarian situations created by the terrorist military escalation, mainly new crowds of internally displaced persons (IDP).

The Cabinet reviewed the practical measures that have been taken by the government to respond the developments in the humanitarian, health, commodity and economic supplies.

The Minister of Defense reported to the Cabinet about the ministry situations and combat operations in different fronts, citing the needed supplies to back the armed and security forces.

The Council of Ministers confirmed the government’s commitment to support the armed forces and provide them with the necessary supplies to enable them doing their job.

Regarding the humanitarian aspect, the Cabinet directed the concerned ministries and government authorities to coordinate with the local authorities and regional and international partners to provide the urgently needed relief and humanitarian aid to the IDPs, including shelter, food, water and health care.

The Council of Ministers urged doubling efforts to ensure the stability of the basic services, namely electricity, water and health care.
