Interior Ministry Says Houthi Cells Detained, Suspicious Activities Tracked

The Ministry of Interior said security forces have recently detained several cells and individuals linked to the terrorist Houthi militia in a number of provinces, while uncovering suspicious movements, communications and meetings, as well as attempts to smuggle, gather information, recruit individuals and facilitate activities threatening security and stability.

In a statement issued today, the ministry said security authorities had also identified other methods used by the Houthi militia to evade security measures. These include exploiting telecommunications networks and coercing residents in areas under its control into contacting relatives and acquaintances in the liberated provinces to obtain information or relay messages and requests in support of its activities.

The ministry said these activities are being closely monitored and that security authorities have the information and capabilities needed to uncover them, track those involved and take legal action against them.

It warned the Houthi militia, its cells and those cooperating with them against continuing such activities, stressing that the state’s security, military and judicial institutions would take firm action against any attempt to undermine the security of citizens or stability in the liberated provinces.

The ministry also urged citizens to exercise caution when receiving suspicious messages or requests, regardless of their source or means of communication. It praised citizens for their vigilance and sense of national responsibility, saying their cooperation had helped expose and thwart a number of such activities.

It called on citizens to remain vigilant, cooperate with security authorities and report through official channels any suspicious movements, communications or activities, while avoiding rumors and unsubstantiated accusations.

The ministry assured citizens that security forces remain on high alert and are closely monitoring activities that threaten security and stability, stressing that the Houthi militia and its cells will not be allowed to use the liberated provinces as a base for their destabilizing activities.
