Yemen Condemns Attack on Qatar’s Gas Tanker ‘Al-Maida’

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed its strong condemnation of the attack on the liquefied natural gas tanker ‘al-Maida,’ owned by Qatar Gas Transport Company ‘Naqilat,’ on Friday evening while it was sailing in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, stressing its firm rejection of any actions that threaten the safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies.

The ministry confirmed in a statement issued today that the Republic of Yemen fully stands in solidarity with the State of Qatar and supports it in all measures it takes to protect its security, interests, and the safety of its maritime tankers.

The ministry emphasized the need to respect international law and ensure freedom of navigation, and the importance of the international community taking urgent measures to enhance maritime security and protect international trade, according to the provisions of international law.
