President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met with Jonathan Pecha, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Yemen.
They discussed Yemeni-American relations, national developments, international support for reforms, and coordination across various fields.
President al-Alimi praised U.S. support for the PLC, the government, and the Yemeni people’s efforts to counter the Houthi terrorist militia, restore state institutions, and ensure security and stability.
He emphasized cooperation with the U.S. in fighting terrorism, enforcing the ban on Iranian weapons smuggling, and countering the Houthi terrorist militia’s threats to Yemen and the region.
The American diplomat reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to supporting the PLC, promoting peace, and alleviating humanitarian suffering caused by the Houthi terrorist militia.
