President al-Alimi Praises Korea’s Role In Supporting Yemen, Tightening Sanctions On Terrorist Militias

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received today, Tuesday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Yemen, : DO Bong-Kae to say goodbye as his term in our country has expired.

The President highly appreciated the significant efforts made by the Ambassador Bong-Kae to further promote the bilateral relations between the two countries, wishing him all the best in his career.

The President also deeply appreciated the supportive stances of the Republic of Korea in supporting the Yemeni people and the Korean significant contributions to the humanitarian and developmental actions in Yemen.

He also greatly valued Korea’s responsible role in the Security Council, its chairmanship of the Yemen Sanctions Committee and its notable efforts in protecting international peace and security.

President al-Alimi touched on national developments and the government’s efforts to deliver on its obligations and advance the program of financial, administrative and institutional reforms.

The Chairman of the PLC denounced Iran’s repeated violations of Yemen’s sovereignty, the latest being the dispatch of a direct flight to Sana’a Airport, which is under the control of the Houthi terrorist militias, in blatant defiance of UN Security Council resolutions and international sanctions.

He restated his confidence in the continued active role of Korea within the Security Council and the Sanctions Committee to ensure strict implementation of international resolutions, as well as ongoing support for efforts aimed at tightening oversight of Iranian violations and strengthening international measures to cut off funding and arms supplies to the terrorist militias.
