President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received the British Minister of State for the Middle East at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Alistair Burt in Riyadh on Tuesday today.

They discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, including those related to the situation of Yemen and the available prospects for peace.

Hadi acquainted the British official on the situation in Yemen since the Houthi militia’s coup especially suffering of Yemenis and the Houthi attacks on neighboring countries.

He also referred to the various rounds of peace talks in which the government offered many concessions in favor of peace, the latest of which was the Stockholm consultations.

“We will work together to implement the Stockholm Agreement as the first step toward breakthrough,” said Hadi pointing out to government’s cooperation with the peace mediator versus the Houthi foot-dragging policy.

The British official hailed Hadi’s efforts and reiterated the United Kingdom’s stand in support of Yemen and its government until the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, stability and decent living are fully fulfilled.
