Def. Ministry & Chief of Staff organize commemorative ceremony for the martyrs of the UAE bombing in Aden & Abyan

The Ministry of Defense and the General Chief of Staff on Thursday, held a commemorative ceremony in Shabwa province for the national army martyrs, targeted by the United Arab Emirates warplanes bombing in different areas of Aden and Abyan on 27 and 28 August.

In his speech, Advisor to the Minister of Defense Major Gen. Khalid Al-Ashwal said that the UAE bombing caused the killing and wounding of more than (300) officers and soldiers of the national army while they were carrying out the constitutional and national duty in confronting a rebel militia.”

“The UAE Air Force launched 13 air strikes over two days in which F-16 and Apache fighter jets destroyed and burned 19 military vehicles and burned 4 ambulances”, Al-Ashwal added.

“The Yemeni national army are responsible for completing the liberation of the homeland and the remaining provinces still under the control of Iran-backed Houthi rebel militias, and fighting terrorist groups,” he said.

Al-Ashwal also praised the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the battle of one destiny against a single enemy that poses a threat to Yemen and the region.

A photo exhibition of soldiers who martyred in the UAE bombing was also held at the event.

The event was attended by the commander of the 3rd Military Area, Major Gen. Ahmed Al – Hubaishi, military and security leaders, and the leaders of the authority in Shabwa province.
