Saadah..army removes over 4,000 landmines

National Army forces have so far removed more than 4,000 landmines from liberated areas during last two weeks in Saada, province, north-western the country.

“Engineering teams, supported by mines’ experts of Arab coalition, have dismantled over 4,000 mines and explosives devices from Saada military front,” said chief of Engineering unit, Captain Saif Al-Salafi to September Net.

The removed explosives were anti personnel and armored vehicles mines, domestically made IEDs with different size, and remotely control rockets, which were planted by militia to target army troops in Al-Buque, and civilians on Saudi borders, Al-Salafi added.

He confirmed that the team continues clearing mines after securing highlands and market of Buque, and the international road with Saudi Arabia, pointing out that modern equipment, provided by coalition forces, are used in the the demining operation.

“We will continue to detect and remove all explosives from the recaptured territories to save the lives its residents.”
