The National Demining Program’s (NDP) teams on Wednesday destroyed 868 mines planted by Houthi militia in al-Jawf province.

The landmines were extracted from different areas of the province before being damaged in cooperation with the Saudi Demining project “MASAM”.

Director of NDP Brig. Gen. Ameen al-Akaili was quoted by the Yemeni  News Agency ( Saba) as saying that engineering teams are still working to clear and demine the public roads, the densely  populated areas, services and water resources, mostly and largely affected by mines.

He highly appreciated support provided by MASAM in demining Yemen from such  humanitarian disaster over Houthi militia’s nines and explosives.
