The national army forces on Tuesday, thwarted an attempt by the Houthi militia in the province of Al-Jawf, northeastern of the country.

The national army forces were able to repel the attack, on positions Houthi elements previously defeated.

A military source said that a number of militia elements were killed and wounded, during the failed attempt to regain the positions of Guidrah and Melhaa, in Barat Al-Alanan district.

“The army  managed during the past week to thwart the operation of Houthi elements in the bombing and planting of a number of mines and improvised explosive devices near the positions of the national army,” the source added.

“The national army in full combat readiness and goes on in the implementation of its national tasks according to plans drawn,” the source stressed.
