Over 1200 Houthi-laid landmines destroyed in Al-Jawf province

Demining  teams from Yemen National Mine Action Center as well as Saudi Landmine Clearance Project ‘MASAM’ destroyed on Monday a total of 1230 landmines and unexploded ammunition planted by the Iran-backed Houthi militia in the northern province of  Al-Jawf

Director of the National Center Brig. Gen. Ameen Al-Aqeeli  made it clear that the destroyed quantity were previously removed from densely populated and civilian areas in Qaroon Salima region in the north of the province’s capital, Alhazm.

He said the rebel militia laid the mines and explosives intensively and randomly in the province, noting to similar coming operation to destroy cleared mines in the same province as well as some other Yemeni provinces, according to Saba News Agency.
