Army thwarts infiltration attempts by Houthi militia in Taiz

Yemeni armed forces on Saturday night thwarted the Iran-backed Houthi militia several infiltration attempts, east of Taiz city, southwestern Yemen.

Houthi militia infiltration attempts were concentrated in in Al-Jirat area, but the army succeeded in thwarting it, forcing the militants to retreat and flee, killing and wounding some of them.

The rebel militia also shelled various army positions on some fronts in the same province.

Together, the Houthi rebel militia shelled various army positions in Qataba district, Al-Dhale province, southern Yemen.

In Hajjah province, northwest Yemen, militia shelled army positions in different areas of the province, and the army responded to these attacks, leaving a number of Houthi killed and wounded.

The army continues to adhere to the orders of His Excellency President Field Marshal Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi, President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, which calls for a ceasefire in response to the call of the UN Secretary-General to deal with the consequences of the spread of the new Coronavirus (Covid 19).
